Amazon's Kindle Publishing For Blogs

Thanks to Gerri of Ninety Nine Ways. I have read about it from his post. Amazon's Kindle Publishing for Blogs offers bloggers to upload their blog and get paid for their content based on the number of subscriptions. You have to sign up first and get verified. Verification usually took 24-48 hours upon your submission. Note that you cannot use your existing Amazon account on this. You will have to create another account.

Amazon pays you 30% royalties of subscriptions and for every single issue sales revenue every month. However, you cannot control the subscription prices. Amazon does it for you to what they think is fair. Most of the pricing ranges from $0.99 - $1.99.

Payments are made through cheque once you've reach $50 or you can opt in to direct deposit to your bank account once you've reach $10. You will be charge an $8 fee for cheque payments for US address and electronic payments are only made to U.S. bank accounts.

I have signed up and get published within 24 hours. Let me hear what you think about the Kindle Publishing by Amazon.

Free PR10 Backlink from Google?

Getting a quality backlink is not that painful. In fact, you can get a PR10 backlink for free! Free where? Free from Google itself. There are webmasters selling the secret for $15. But I've read this many times before from other blogs and decided to make a post about it. The question is not actually how to get the backlink from Google but does it actually works? Some say yes and others are not. I don't actually believe that it works but setting it up takes only minutes and you won't lose anything.

For the sake of newbies who does not know it yet, follow these instructions.

1. Get your Google account. Skip this step if you already have one.
2. Create your Google profile and add your url.

That is so simple and no screen shots needed. And guys, I want to clarify that this is not a blackhat method.

Update: Google announces that this trick is no longer working.

Girl dies of Electrocution while Tweeting on Bathtub

A 17 -year old Romanian girl died of electrocution while tweeting on her bathtub. Yes people! Twitter kills. Whatever you do, don't ever do what she did. It will be a twittercide.

The news says that, Maria Barbu was in the tub while using Twitter when she likely reached in to plug her charger with wet hand and electrocuting herself in the process.

But what does she have to tweet in the tub anyway huh? " Washing my legs" ? =D She must have forgot to tweet that she was wet and naked and ready to go! lol peace out!

Be careful and do not be so dumb about water and electricity. That is why it is stated in electrical codes that outlets in the bathroom and kitchen must be GFCI protected. Why would this happen in the 21st century? I thought people are smarter nowadays.

Agent Mango's Blogger Story!

I discovered Blogger in my search for financial freedom. Because I've read that you can earn money from blogging. But before I create my blog on Blogger, I opt in for fast making money online resources; paid-to-click,paid-to-review,internet marketing, blackhat stuffs and even cookie stuffing.

I made decent money out of these stuffs. I enjoyed it at first but eventually get tired. Because some sites were scams, short term oriented and others require much work. So I look for better and long term resource of making money. After reading facts about blogging, I immediately create my blog at Blogger. I found Blogger when I google the word Blogging.

My first blog was the I Love My Health blog (now dead). And my second blog was this blog PC Holics. I deleted the health blog for some reasons. The reason is secret hehe. But I really wanted to continue the health blog. Now I am blogging here at PC Holics and other blogs which I applied as a ghost writer.

I am still newbie when it comes to blogging but hey I've already made my first payout on Adsense. Not only I am paid via blogging. I also improve my skills because of Blogger. Skills like typing because I use my keyboard everyday typing articles, I expanded my vocabulary, and etc. I also met many friends because of Blogging. I learn social networking and I become a tech savvy because of blogging. How thankful I am that I've met Blogger.

I can't tell all what Blogger has done to me. No words can tell. This is for now my Blogger story. Do you have a Blogger story? Write a post about it then submit it here .

Blogger is turning 10!

Blogger is turning 10 years this late August. Blogger was first launch on August 23, 1999 (I was 10 years old that time). It was launch by Pyra Labs and was purchased by Google on February 2003. Here is some interesting facts about Blogger from Buzz Blogger:

Every minute of every day, 270,000 words are written on Blogger

Millions of people worldwide use Blogger to publish to their blog each week

Almost two thirds of Blogger's traffic comes from outside North America (What's the #2 country after the U.S.? Brazil, followed by Turkey, Spain, Canada, and the U.K.)

The most popular sport for our bloggers? Soccer (that's football to the rest of the world), more than four times larger than the #2 sport, baseball

I've been using Blogger for over a year now on different blogs. Blogger is user friendly. I never had a problem dealing with it. And guys, do you have a Blogger story to tell? Write a post about it and let Blogger know about your story by filling up this form.

Does your free blog hosting suits you?

When we all started our blogs, we faced the same dilemma of choosing our blog hosting.Their are lots of blogging websites that provide free hosting like WordPress and Blogger and many more. I have listed them in my post "250+ free Blog Sites". Debate still continues whether to host your blog on your own domain or just the free hosting. Of course, in that situation, their is always a good and bad.

Free hosting sites provide users with free blogs. However, free hosted blogs have the format like "agentmango@blogger.com" or "agentmango@wordpress.com". You always carry the name of the host provider. And some have restrictions because your blog is free hosted. You will only be able to escape this restrictions if you will acquire your own domain name.

But the question is, Why should we host our blog with them? Simple, because it is free. No cent at all to spend. You won't even mind the space and bandwidth of your blog. It is all provided by the host provider but of course it is limited. They also provide simple tools for you to use. You won't also worry about your blog's maintenance.

However, free hosted blogs are limited. You won't have full control of your blog. Also you cannot have strong branding and marketing. Your potential customers will not benefit you if they know you are using free blogs.

Generally speaking, free blogs really don't give you much. But I am not saying that free blogs are inappropriate for everyone. As you can see, I am using free blog from Blogger too. And I am not saying that you won't make anything with free blogs. As a matter of fact, I just got my first payment from Google Adsense last month.

If you're looking too make much money online, having your own domain name is recommended.

The Three Types of Email Marketing List

Before you enter into the world of email marketing, let us discuss the three types of email marketing list and their potentials.

First type was the email addresses that are sold in bulk. These email addresses contains people who showed interest in a certain niche. They are usually in thousands or even millions. With this kind of list you need bulk mailing software or an autoresponder to put them and send them follow up emails. This type of list is poor because they have been sold multiple times and is recycled.

Second type was the ezine list. This also contains subscribers that are interested in a certain niche. You usually pay the ezine owner to send your ad to the list. There are hundreds of ezines out there and prices vary depending on the number of subscribers you are going to send your ad. You will need to do a little research on the ezine owner you are going to pay and how well the performance of his ezine into the industry is. You also want to do a testing because you can never really tell if it converts well.

The third type of list was the list created by you. You created this list using your marketing strategy; good landing pages, lots of freebies, constantly providing quality information and so on. This is the best email list and this list will grow if you are consistent on what you are doing from the beginning.

How to Start Email Marketing Effectively

We are in the competitive world of internet marketing and reaching potential customers is very crucial. You need to work hard to ensure quality traffic and convert this traffic into sales. Traffic is your lifeline. Without it you are going nowhere. Almost everyone is eligible to receive an email, so if you can capture every visitor on your site then you have a way of promoting your products over and over again.

First step to do is you must create a mailing list. You must entice them to sign up with your site. You have to create a very good landing page and emphasize the benefits they will receive if they subscribe with you. Put an opt-in tool, so that every visitor could put in their name and most importantly their email in exchange with some e-book or a video. The e-book or video must contain helpful information that would help them.

After creating an email list, don’t start with bombarding them with ads or self-promotions because it would make them to unsubscribe. Start with providing your subscribers some resources or information that would make them fruitful. Subscribers love freebies and tips.

It is now safe to send them a couple of your emails with low-end products only if you gain their friendship and trust, providing with plenty of information about the product. Your primary and last obligation will be someone they could come for help and advice.

If you start with these tips then you are building a list of your potential customers.

Are You Making These Twitter Mistakes?

Twitter, for most of people, might be an awesome tool. But it doesn’t hold all the answers that we are seeking. Twitter is addicting and fun! I’m a living proof. The addiction and fun it brings is precisely the trouble with Twitter.

Twitter is considered the SMS of the internet. Even with its 140 characters limitation, still that does not diminish the appeal of social media.

Most people commit these mistakes on Twitter:

When you turn on your pc, what do you usually open first? If you’re going to ask me, it’s my Friendster account lol! Many employees of certain companies admit that the first thing they open was their Twitter account. Some companies have restricted the use of Twitter on their employees’ computer because it hinders the workflow. Instead of filing some documents, they are twitting with their account. Twitter might not be a problem when you’re at home, but in the office yes it is.

Twitter replaces most of our meaningful conversations. And worst is that it also reduces into a 140 character limitation. Its instant messaging package was great but Twitting thank you messages for your friends who attended your, let say your wedding is not the same as sending them a personalized thank you cards.

Twitter can be used for advertising your business, drive more sales and spread the word to all your followers about your new product or service. But you must not rely on Twitter alone. Twitter could be your marketing tool but it should not be the backbone of your business.

Every user must know how to use Twitter well as well its limitations. So that it can be used in productive ways.

Must Read Twitter Safety Tips

Many people have fallen in love with Twitter. And we all know how fun it could be. Many people think there is nothing wrong with it at all. Who needs Twitter safety tips anyway when you could only see a cute bird logo?

Well, do not be sure enough that Twitter is cute like Tweety bird. Remember that Twitter is still part of the internet and is eligible of being targeted by sexual predators and people who wanted to do harm on others.

Just last month, I’ve post about another Twitter scam. It’s the “OMG! I Got Over 2000+ Followers on Twitter”. So I’ve prepared must read Twitter safety tips for all.

The internet was not harmful by itself. It is meant for online library of information and for fun. But what make it harmful were the groups of people that have bad intentions. Who could ever think that the person you are mingling with was a 50 year old pervert mask with a cute and handsome 15 year old boy? People could easily make lies on Twitter.

Don’t tell your location if you have added some friends on Twitter that were not really your friends. Twitting could be addicting. Don’t tweet that you are stuck on Starbucks alone drinking your favorite coffee. This information could be taken advantage by anyone.

Don’t give up your trust on the internet. Twitting that you have just bought a golden necklace could attract some wrong sort of followers.

Twitting is fun but don’t forget your limitations about twitting your private information for the whole world could read. Whatever you do on Twitter do not forget these must read Twitter safety tips.

Reasons Why to use Blogs

I have already mentioned a good use of blog in my post “Making your Blog as your Website”. Blogs are becoming more and more popular in business and the internet is going to recognize blogs as a medium to increase more sales. I have added some more reasons why to use blogs.

1. Ease of Work
Compared to websites, blogs can be easily updated. Not like websites that require you to change html and republish it again. With the use of blog, within minutes, changes can be made.

2. Speed of Change
Compared to websites, changes can be done is minutes or even seconds. Websites require hours to make a change. It is very time consuming.

3. Speed of Delivery
Information seekers get to your information quickly. Also search engines can quickly pick up the information changes that you make.

4. Less organization
When you make posts to your blog, it is not necessary for it to be super organized just as websites do many html and codes. As long as the information was there and it is as if you were talking to your readers.

5. Ease of communication
Blogs has comment forms where readers can leave their feedback. The comments are important because this is the direct feedback of your readers, competitors, friends and clients.

6. Costs of Factors
Blogs only cost you few bucks like for the domain name and for hosting and nothing more, unless you get into advertising your blog.

7. Search engine love affair
Search engines loves updated blogs.

If you have more questions regarding about blogs contact me using the contact form. And watch out for more of my posts.

Making your Blog as your Website

Many webmasters are doing this. Maybe this doesn’t sound appealing for a newbie. But blogs are easy to use than websites and is easy to maintain. Have you tried visiting a website that is outdated? Let us face it, maintaining an updated website is not as easy as blogging, unless you got your team of people to constantly updating your website.

For this reason, you may want to use blog software to run a website. No? Still not convince? Okay I’ll give you an example. Haven’t you compare the costs of making a blog and a website? Got the idea? The beauty of this is price. Why pay companies to set you up a static website when you could just do it on your own.

The best part of using blogs is that you can change anything and anywhere as long as you have internet connection anything you want. You can add users, or email accounts just like what you’ve been doing to other sites. Everything was well set up. All you have to do is follow simple steps and you’re on!

Oh wait a minute! Haven’t I mention that you can add videos, music, photos, and just anything you want to add on your blog? And those users can easily subscribe to your blog using RSS feeds.

Blogging from Blogger to WordPress

I started my blog with Blogger free hosting. As you can see it has a “.blogspot.com” on it. I now wanted to use WordPress because it has many benefits than a Blogger blog can have. Like the plug-ins that you can install and the full control of your blog. Blogger and WordPress provide a friendly environment for bloggers. But most find blogging easy with Blogger. However, its limitations force bloggers to use WordPress.

I wanted to export my posts to WordPress. But I don’t want to lose a single post because maybe they are highly ranked in Google for key terms or for its search engine optimized permalinks. Or maybe I was just dreaming while writing this post. I know I am not there yet but maybe soon!

In exporting your posts from Blogger to WordPress, make sure to set your WordPress permalinks “exactly” the way that blogger has them or else you can lose all your indexed pages. This way you were able to export over all your files from blogger without losing one post.

Blogger format of blogging is easy and is user friendly but is quite tiring. Also, there are many limitations using Blogger and you just couldn’t do what you want to do. You are not in control of your blog. So if you can do blogging now with WordPress, do it now. You can also make websites and not just blog using WordPress. WordPress is easy to use just as Blogger.

Microsoft criticized by Cuba for blocking Messenger

Microsoft has disabled the use of its instant messaging service to 5 countries: Syria, Iran, North Korea, Sudan and Cuba. Internet users from these countries could no longer connect to Windows Live Messenger.

Last Friday, Cuba criticized Microsoft Messenger to block its instant messaging service to the islands and other countries under U.S. sanctions, calls this another example of Washington "inhumane" treatment of Havana. The Windows Live Messenger was used to island for a decade, without interference from Microsoft.

The technology giant recently announced the availability of programs in Cuba, Syria, Iran, Sudan and North Korea to comply with a U.S. ban on transfer of software licenses to countries subject to embargo.

Juventud Rebelde, a technology writer, says in an article published by state youth newspaper that the move was " just the latest turn of the screw in the United States' technological blockade against the island". He stressed that the ban for the transfer of technology was a severe violation of Cuban rights.

Read full article on sfgate: Cuba criticizes Microsoft blocking Messenger

From the five countries that Microsoft blocked, only Cuba had criticised Microsft and I have not hear from the other countries.

Bing is Now Open for Beta

I thought the launch will be on June 3rd as what I've read on Mashable . But then It was now on its Beta phase. Or I guess I read it wrong or something. You should be now trying its Beta phase and compare it to Google. I got a little comment on the Beta page. I am not surprise with it. It is decent but, I did not feel something new with it.

I've tried the search. I entered other blogs name like PinoyMoneyTalk and other authority sites like YouTube and the results were great. I notice that when I try to search it displays related searches on the left side. It also gives short summary of the content when you point your mouse over the result and auto plays videos. But it is not that different to the Live Search. Nothing was surprising as promised.

I've search my blog on Bing but nothing appears. Of course I haven't submitted my URL to them because Google was my priority. But I did submit my URL while writing this post.

Enough of my comments and try it for yourself now. Comeback here and tell me what did you experience new about it, if in case there is :D
